Well, the day finally arrived and I am now on my new journey of nursing. I began my course on Monday 16th April as planned, with a small class of just 6, but by Thursday had actually dwindled down to just 4. But that's ok as we have found out, that as of June we will be joining the February intake, so the work we have to do to catch up is heavy but do-able.
On Monday, it was just an induction day, so we finished pretty early at 1pm. We did get some nice goodies, as well as free study books which we should receive within the next few weeks. along with £200 on our I.D cards for other books we may want, which is a great gift to have.
When we had our tutorial on what we will be studying, we found out the modules are, Essential skills for Higher Education and Health Care, Search Skills for Higher Education and Health Care, Protection of Vulnerable People and finally Introduction of Personal Practice. Each module has an assignment and lots of reading materials and online resources.
We have to make up all the work that the February intake have done so far and be up to date by the first week of June. Am I looking forward to joining the Feb intake, not really as they will already have their cliques and so will be hard to join in other groups.
Heres to week 2 on Monday and finally, hopefully, we collect our I.D cards.

Start Date is Confirmed
Today I finally got around to finalising my university place, which will begin on Monday 16th April 2018. This is going to be the start of something amazing that has taken 30 years to get too and my 3rd attempt of applying, so it is plain to see my life needed to go the path it had in order to get to this wonderful position of having brought up 2 wonderful boys and then have time for me now to grab every opportunity I can to achieve my ultimate goal of becoming a nurse.
My bedroom will now double up as my study room, for when i need quiet if hubby is home and working on his business stuff. Its a nice cozy corner with a desk and computer, a nice new HP Envy printer and a large bookshelf. All I want now is to get going, although my fellow student nurses that I know have told me, be careful what you wish for as the next 3 years will be the hardest you will have, apart from the past 20 as an at home mummy.
well short and sweet but bye for now blogging world. see you soon

Starting Nursing April 2018
Wow a long time since I have been here, but a great development since starting the Access to Nursing, I received an unconditional to study BSc Adult Nursing from the 16th April, I was so shocked and happy as I had also received offers from all my UCAS offers but they all wanted 30 D and 12/15 M's. I had my hopes on going to Kings College London but alas I decided to hang on and begin 6 months earlier.
So, I am now just waiting to Pre-Enroll for the course which will be sometime next week, as its not long now till I begin one of the best careers in the world.
Student nurse Khadijah is on the way.
